Happy birthday, Fruitcake!
I'm just so not creative! Some of you know how this girl spoils me rotten, and I can't even come up with a good birthday surprise... So well, given that she'll listen to anything I sing - even in "disastrous" occasions - I guess a wee song will have to do.

Little note: I always have to "restrain" my singing a little when recording on the computer because my small microphone overlaps. Hope I'm not sounding... "emotionless" in all of them!

ReplyDelete"So not creative" and "emotionless"??? Hmmm . . . to quote what a very smart lady said recently to me, "You're crazy, dear!" And how can anyone get tired of a classic? That's the wonderful thing about music . . . and poetry . . . and BatB, isn't it? The truly beautiful creation, the truly worthy, may be familiar and of its time but never constrained by it. I'm glad I don't know about all the songs you are not posting for their "tiresomeness" - as I would probably start to fuss at you! :-) With the best of intentions.

ReplyDeleteTrue the song was recorded in honor of the birthday girl, but the words are just as true for all of you who have touched my life in one way or another... Thank you! I'm really happy the "new version" still sounds fresh to you! I'll remember that, Gail, next time I consider songs to post... :-D
